BARSTOW A man was shot in the arm and chest Monday evening at a local auto dealer.

Barstow Police responded to reports of a shooting at Superior Auto Sales on 916 East Main Street Monday at 6:31 p.m.

According to Barstow Police Sgt. Andy Espinoza Sr., four people were in the office of the auto dealership when a man accompanied by a woman entered the premises and shot a man.

The victim was shot once in the arm leading to a secondary wound to the chest.

According to Barstow Police department reports the gunman fired only one shot. Police do not yet know the man's motive.

"The suspect had the mindset to shoot someone," said Espinoza. "There was nothing stolen or damaged."

The victim said to be in stable condition is at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, according to Espinoza.

The suspects fled the scene in an unidentified vehicle and are yet to be found.

Detectives are currently interviewing the victim and witnesses to find out more information about the gunman believed to be a short male of Hispanic or Middle Eastern descent, between the ages of 25 to 35 and the possible motives.
