RIDGECREST The Barstow High School baseball team fell 6-2 to Burroughs after a tough first inning.


The Aztecs scored on a RBI double by Lucas Crank in the top of the first. However, the Burros answered with a three-run rally. Barstow's starter, Billy McCall, gave up a walk, bunt single and then a home run in the first inning.


McCall ended the game with eight walks and four strikeouts. Barstow coach Roland Fite said that the umpire had a tight strike zone on Friday.


Robert Duran came in for McCall in the fifth inning. He had three walks and three strike outs in his time on the mound.


The Aztecs will host Victor Valley at 3 p.m. on Wednesday.
