YERMO A 34-year-old Yermo woman was arrested Sunday morning in Newberry Springs after allegedly biting her 12-year-old daughter.

Deputies responded to a report of child abuse on the 38000 block of Sycamore Road in Yermo around 9:30 a.m. Sunday, according to a report by the San Bernardino County Sheriff's department. Once deputies arrived on scene, they found a 12-year-old girl suffering from bite marks and bruising to her right shoulder.

The girl's mother, Amy Cetnarowski, allegedly bit her daughter before fleeing the scene, according to the report. Deputies were able to locate Cetnarowski and four other children at a friend's house in Newberry Springs, where she was arrested and booked into the Barstow jail on suspicion of child abuse.

According to Sgt. Rob Ciolli, there were no previous reports of child abuse by Cetnarowski. He said witnesses said Cetnarowski had been drinking at the time of the alleged bite.

All five children have been taken into custody by Child Protective Services, according to the report. Cetnarowski remains in custody at the West Valley Detention Center in lieu of $100,000 bail.
