BARSTOW • A 67-year-old Barstow man was arrested for allegedly exposing himself to two young girls Wednesday afternoon.

He also may have been exposing himself to other young girls for the past five years, according to the Barstow Police Department.

According to a police report, an 11-year-old and 7-year-old girl were walking on the 800 block of Flora Street Wednesday when the suspect, Fernan Obando, called out to them. Obando then allegedly exposed himself to the girls while he was standing in the doorway of his house.

The two victims then ran home and told their parents what had happened. The girls identified Obando as the suspect to Barstow Police Department Officer Rudy Perez, who arrested Obando on suspicion of annoying or molesting a child.

According to the police report, Obando has also been exposing himself to young girls for the past five years near his home. Sgt. Andy Espinoza Sr. of the Barstow Police Department said Thursday that detectives are seeking more victims to come forward with information on Obando but have not received any further complaints. Police also believe that Obando may have done similar acts at his prior residence in New Jersey.
