SAN BERNARDINO • Barstow Mayor Joe Gomez's pre-trial hearing on sexual battery charges has been pushed for a third time.
Gomez's primary attorney, Marc Carlos, is in trial in San Diego and could not be in court for another three weeks, said Gomez's other attorney and brother Alvin Gomez. A pre-trial date was rescheduled for March 11.
Gomez is accused of touching an intimate part of an unidentified woman in December 2009 "for the purpose of sexual arousal, sexual gratification and sexual abuse." If convicted, Gomez could face a fine of up to $2,000 and would be required to register as a sex offender.
