San Bernardino County First District Supervisor Brad Mitzelfelt (second from left) and Barstow Mayor Pro-Tem Julie Hackbarth-McIntyre (second from right) cut the ribbon for the opening of the Barstow-to-Victorville bus at a ceremony on Tuesday afternoon. Colleen Krygier (far left), Director for the Department of Aging and Adult Services, and Barstow Mayor Joe Gomez (far right) hold the ribbon.

The bus will provide service from Barstow to Victorville three days a week for $6 each way starting Wednesday. The bus will travel to different medical centers within the Victor Valley and Barstow.

Mitzelfelt said at the ceremony that he hoped the bus would meet Barstow resident's needs for specialized health care and hoped ridership on the bus will allow the Victor Valley Transit Authority to expand the program.
