NELLIS AIR FORCE BASE, Nev. (AP) — The Air Force says southern Nevada and nearby California desert residents may see an increase in military aircraft in the skies during exercises over the next two weeks.
Public affairs officers with the 99th Air Base Wing at Nellis Air Force Base say Green Flag West aircraft will be flying from the Las Vegas area to and from the National Training Center at Fort Irwin.
The exercises begin Friday and run through Jan. 28.
The air corridor will be near Mount Charleston, north of Pahrump and across the Mojave Desert in California's Inyo and San Bernardino counties.
U.S. and allied forces from Florida, Hawaii and Italy are due to take part in the exercises.
