Antoinette Wheeler, the current vice president of academic affairs, will resign effective June 30,. The college board of trustees authorized the advertisement and hire of a new vice president of academic affairs Wednesday.

The person who replaces Wheeler will not be able to begin his or her new job until July 1.

Wheeler submitted her resignation shortly after Thanksgiving, said college spokesperson Maureen Stokes. She has been on a leave of absence since September. The circumstances behind Wheeler's leave of absence and her resignation are confidential, Stokes said. Wheeler could not be reached for comment Thursday. Members of the Board of Trustees were not available for comment.
