The Silver Valley boys basketball team stayed perfect in Desert Mountain League play this weekend.

The Trojans beat Mammoth 46-16 on Friday and Lone Pine 63-58 on Saturday. Silver Valley is now 4-0 in DML play and 8-1 overall this season. Aside from their  60-44 loss to Desert and their most recent five-point victory the Trojans have outscored every opponent by at least 11 points. They are scoring 61 points a game on average while allowing only 41 points.

Silver Valley easily had its way with the Huskies. No Trojan broke into double digits, but all but three players scored in the game. Dante Fields led with 7 points. Carmelo Garrett and Addison Burgess each had six points.

However, it was a different story against Lone Pine. Silver Valley trailed 35-20 at halftime and had to fight back for the victory.

Silver Valley coach Bernard Agagni said that bringing freshman Anthony Nolen off the bench to start the second half jump started his team.

"(Nolen) had nine points off the bench in the second half, but it was his leadership and defensive pressure that helped us," Agagni said.

Stephen Ortiz and Burgess each had 14 points to lead the Trojans in the win against the Eagles. Arnard Wright added 12 points.
