Each day this week, the Desert Dispatch will run responses to several questions put to candidates running for two seats on the Barstow City Council. Each day, answers to a different questions will run. The candidates were given a word limit, and their responses have not been edited.

Why should voters select you for the Barstow City Council?

Having been born and raised in Barstow, I want to make sure our City continues to move forward.  Having served the residents of Barstow and have built relationships with other Government agencies that will help our City.  

As a businesswoman, I understand the needs for more and better paying jobs.  With my background in operating a business, I can help bring more employers to Barstow.

Voters should select me because I am trustworthy, experienced, have leadership skills and will be accountable to the voters. In addition, the voters asked me to run. I believe the Council should be financially responsible, innovative in dealing with issues facing the city. I will not ask  for studies and reorganizations that create no savings. I will look at both sides of the issue, think outside the box to ensure Barstow 's needs are being

As Barstow grows, it's important to keep active business people in the Council who will work to keep Barstow business friendly and keep the City on the right fiscal track.

I don't presume to be a genius, which is why I've found that listening is a very valuable skill. I do understand that private sector expertise and public enthusiasm is what will grow our city. So I'll listen, then make decisions.
