FORT IRWIN Fort Police are looking for a man wanted in connection with an armed robbery that occurred Tuesday morning near the intersection of Pork Chop Hill and Buena Vista Streets.

According to a Fort Irwin press release, the man sought for the robbery was last seen around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, and was wearing blue shorts and a black hooded sweatshirt.

Fort Irwin Community Information Manager Charles Melton would not tell the Desert Dispatch what residence or business was robbed, how much or what property or money was taken, if any , what type of weapon was used, or if anyone was injured.

Melton cited an ongoing investigation as reason as withholding information on the robbery, and said any other information would have to be approved by Garrison Commander Col. Jim Chevalier. Attempts to reach Chevalier on Wednesday afternoon were unsuccessful.
