YERMO • Sheriff's deputies have arrested a Yermo parolee suspected of using a stolen pickup in the theft of more than $12,000 of equipment from a nearby mine.
Tim Lundin, 29, was arrested at the 38000 block of East Williams Street in Yermo after deputies received reports of Lundin driving a stolen 1992 Toyota pickup in the area. Lundin was found to be in possession of shaved keys known to be associated with stolen vehicles.
Police believe that the stolen truck is the same vehicle used in other area burglaries, based on video surveillance. Deputies would not mention the location of the burglaries, citing an ongoing investigation.
During their investigation police located the Toyota pickup — which had been torched — in a riverbottom near Hereford Road in Newberry Springs.
Lundin was arrested and charged with burglary, possession of stolen property, petty theft with a prior conviction and a parole violation.
Lundin was booked into the Barstow Jail and is currently lodged at the West Valley Detention Center where he remains in lieu of $50,000 bail.
