LENWOOD • Deputies arrested a 27-year-old Lenwood man in connection with a home invasion robbery Monday.
Shane Millard is being charged with robbery and a parole violation. He is accused of walking through the front door of a house on the 35000 block of Western Drive, pointing a gun at a 17-year-old girl and a 50-year-old man, both of Lenwood, and demanding money at around 2 p.m. Monday, according to a San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department report.
The man gave Millard approximately $50 that he had in his pockets. Millard then ran out of the house and got into a blue four-door economy car. The car was driven by an unidentified man and an unidentified woman was also in the car. Det. Bill Doemner said neither victim was injured during the robbery.
Deputies responded to the report of the robbery and, with information from the victims, were able to identify Millard as the suspect, according to the report. The victims also identified Millard from a photo line-up.
Deputies from the Barstow sheriff's station and the sheriff's Crime Impact Team served a warrant for Millard's arrest at his residence on the 25000 block of West Main Street on Monday afternoon. Sgt. Robbie Ciolli said that the Barstow station contacted the Crime Impact Team for help because they were attempting to arrest a man for a violent crime that involved a gun.
The deputies took Millard into custody at 6:35 p.m. on Monday, and shot and killed a pitbull that jumped over a chain-link fence and charged them during the arrest. Residents and neighbors told deputies that the dog had a history of attacking people, according to the report.
Millard is currently being held at the Barstow Jail with a no bail status. State Parole put a hold on Millard to prevent him from bailing out of jail until he is arraigned in court, according to the report. Millard will be arraigned at 12:30 p.m. today at the Barstow courthouse.
Anyone with information regarding the driver and passenger of the blue four-door getaway car during the home invasion robbery is encouraged to notify Doemner at the Barstow Sheriff's Station or call We-Tip at 1-800-78-CRIME.
