APPLE VALLEY Police arrested a 36-year-old Barstow man in connection with the alleged rape of a 14-year-old Barstow girl Wednesday.

Barstow Police Department Detectives and San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department Deputy John Galindo arrested Kevin Duane Bailey at his mother's house on the 23800 block of Tocaloma Road in Apple Valley Wednesday morning. Bailey is being charged with kidnapping for the purpose of rape, forcible rape, lewd and lascivious conduct with a child, and unlawful sexual penetration.

The 14-year-old, who lived near Bailey, told officer Steven Kaufer on August 10 that Bailey lured her into his apartment on July 24 and held her against her will for several hours, according to a Barstow Police Department report. The girl told Kaufer that Bailey forced her to have sex with him several times during her captivity.

The girl identified Bailey as the suspect during a photo line-up, according to the report. The girl's father told officers he believed Bailey had sexually assaulted other girls in the area, according to the report.

Bailey is currently being held on $1 million bail at the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga.

Police are continuing investigations, and people having information concerning any other possible molestation of girls by Bailey are asked to call Det. Leo Griego at the Barstow Police Annex at 760-255-5187 or at the Police Department at 760-256-2211.
