SULTANA 6, BARSTOW 5 • At Hesperia, Robert Vindiola went 2-for-3 with a double, a home run two RBIs, and Sam Ward three-run homer in a nonleague victory for the Sultans (11-6).

Barstow (12-5) committed four errors early that led to Sultana scores.

"That was the difference really," Barstow coach Bruce Mitchell said. "We booted three ground balls and threw away a ball.

"I'm glad it's a nonleague game and hope it gets us ready for the last four league games."

Jaccob Muir started and pitched four innings. He went a 2-for-3 with a run scored. Aaron Sanchez went 3-for-4 with 3 RBIs, two runs scored and a home run and Chris Madero was 2-for-4.

Sultana plays at Barstow on Friday at 3:30 p.m. Sanchez will start for the Aztecs.
