NEWBERRY SPRINGS • A Mira Loma man died after his motorcycle crashed on Interstate 40 Thursday.
Jack Sylvester Jennings, 59, was airlifted to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs after his Harley Davidson drifted off of the eastbound I-40 in Newberry Springs and hit a tree at about 12:24 p.m., according to a California Highway Patrol report. He died in the hospital at about 3:44 p.m. that afternoon.
When CHP officers arrived on scene, Jennings was unconscious and was being treated by Newberry Springs Fire Department personnel.
CHP Officer Taj Johnson said it was unclear why Jennings drifted off the road. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
