BARSTOW 19, SILVERADO 11 • At Victorville, the Aztecs scored at least one run in every inning except the sixth and put the game away with seven runs in the seventh.
Barstow had a 7-2 lead after two innings but mistakes started to catch up to the Aztecs. Starting pitcher Aaron Sanchez walked five runners and hit two others in four innings of work.
"It would have been a little more fun if our guys put them away a little earlier," Barstow coach Bruce Mitchell said. "Our kids are scrappy, and they find ways to win. That's the important thing."
Jaccob Muir hit two home runs, brought in five RBIs and went 4-for-5 Barstow (8-2; 2-0 DSL).
"His first three at bats, he was just crushing the ball," Mitchell said.
Sanchez went 5-for-6 with 3 RBIs. Chris Madero and Aaron Abeita both went 3-for-6 with 3 RBIs and Matthew Negrette was 3-for-5.
For Silverado (6-7, 1-1 DSL), Adam Schroeder and Tyler Leslie had two hits each. Schroeder hit a two-run home run. Barstow won't play again until they face Victor Valley at home on April 8.
