BARSTOW - The City Council took a holiday on Monday, but will meet on Tuesday to review the city's 2007 financial report and discuss an construction project on Lenwood Road.

The Lenwood Road grade separation project will eliminate the need for a railroad crossing and is needed to promote the industrial development of the area, according to the agenda. The city plans to build either a bridge or an underpass.

The council will also consider changing its contract with consulting firm DPRA to perform additional groundwater testing in the Soap Mine Road area.

Also at the meeting, the council will present students from Hinkley School's Gifted and Talented Education program with a $500 donation recognize the city employees of the year and quarter.

The council will meet at council chambers at city hall, at 220 E. Mountain View, Barstow. Regularly scheduled meetings are televised live on channel 6 and recordings are placed on the city's Web site, www.barstowca.org.
