BARSTOW - A helicopter airlifted two boys to Loma Linda University Medical Center on Monday night after they were hit by a truck.

The two unidentified boys, 10 and 15, were on foot when a white pick-up collided with them on First Avenue just south of Old State Highway 58 at 6:45 p.m., said California Highway Patrol Officer Matt Sais. The driver of the pick-up truck was not injured, Sais said. A witness at the scene said the boys sustained several broken bones. All three are residents of Barstow.

Sais said the driver was not arrested, and alcohol was not a factor in the collision. He said the driver appeared to be traveling too fast for the conditions, but the CHP is still investigating the collision.
